From visitor to enquiry in 6 steps
Traffic is not the hard part. Turning a stranger who landed on your page from Google into someone who writes to you is. Here is the six-block structure we build every Grows page on, and why each block sits where it does.
Grows Team

Most SME homepages are organised the way the business is organised: about us, our history, our team, our services, contact. That is an org chart, not a sales conversation. A visitor arrives with one question: can these people solve my problem, and what happens if I get in touch? A page that answers it in that order converts several times better than one that does not.
The structure below is the one we ship. It is deliberately boring, because a visitor deciding whether to trust you does not want to be surprised by your navigation.
- 1
The promise, above the fold
One sentence saying what you do, for whom, and the outcome. No slogans, no 'welcome to our website'. A visitor should be able to read your headline and know whether to keep scrolling. If your headline would also fit your competitor, it is not a headline yet.
- 2
Immediate proof
Directly under the promise: logos, review scores, years in business, number of projects. Trust decays the further down the page it lives. Anything you would say in the first minute of a sales call belongs in the first screen of the page.
- 3
The problem, in their words
Before you describe your service, describe the situation the visitor is in. This is the block that makes people feel understood, and it is the one almost every SME site skips. Use the phrasing your customers actually use on the phone, not the industry term for it.
- 4
The service, as outcomes
Now the what. Each service gets a plain-language line about the result, not the method. 'Your booking calendar fills itself' beats 'integrated reservation management'. Keep it scannable: three to six items, short blocks, no walls of text.
- 5
Objection handling
Price, timeline, effort required, what happens if it goes wrong. An FAQ is the cheapest sales tool you have: it answers the questions that stop people from writing to you, without them having to ask. Every question a prospect has asked twice belongs here.
- 6
One single next step
One action, repeated. Not 'call us or email or use the form or visit the showroom'. Pick the one you want and make it the only button on the page. Choice at the point of action is friction, and friction is where enquiries die.
A page does not convert because it is beautiful. It converts because it answers the visitor's questions in the order they ask them.
None of this requires a redesign. Take your current homepage, write down the six blocks in order, and see how many are missing or in the wrong place. That list is usually the highest-return work available to you this quarter.
